Hawkstone Park – Results, Series standings & photos
The eagerly awaited return to Hawkstone Park Follies one year on from where the Shropshire Mud Run was born, did not disappoint!
Despite a dry September, competitors were guaranteed Mud and even Rain around the course with multiple muddy holes and pits to slip, slide, jump and crawl through (official photos below!). On top of all this, a gruelling woodland trail run with sandstone caves, so so so many steps! and some tough hills challenged the 350 strong field and saw the final crawl and run to the finish line a mixture of exhaustion, elation and muddy relief!
We thought that team spirit and fancy dress could not be beaten from the last round at Lilleshall, well we were wrong! ‘One in a minion’ (they were some brave outfits!), Mud Honor (sassy and classy!), Law and Oudor, of course the growing number of wally’s, Mr Motivator (wow) and numerous others battled round the course together raising money for charity or just for the fun of it!
Two awards were presented on the day for the best fancy dress to team ‘A sting in the tail’ for staying and finishing in order (it was obviously a wasp!) and the ‘Monkey Boys’ who managed to finish with costumes in tact and bananas in their pockets!!
