January fitness regimes, up and running.

18 days into January and as always the gym is busy, bootcamps are thriving and Personal Training in Shrewsbury and Shropshire is bringing new challenges to our trainers.

With the exciting news that Shrewsbury will now have it’s own Marathon on June 23rd, more people are taking to the streets and seeking advice on how to prepare. This is the key word, preparation. Whether you are a seasoned runner in one of the county’s many successful running clubs like the Shropshire Shufflers & Shrewsbury Athletics Club, have run recreational in the past, or maybe just discovered the joys of running, preparation for an event no matter how big or small is important.

Our Sunday morning running club at our Shrewsbury Bootcamp and Personal Training site at Salop Leisure is proving a popular choice for people of all levels. We aim to give sound technique and training advice, mixed with fun running drills and fitness training we’ll help you feel fitter, faster and more efficient with your running. 10:15am £4 per person.

If you’re new to running and have entered the Shrewsbury Marathon or Half Marathon as your 2013 challenge, then well done you. It’s important to take small steps first to help prepare your body for such an event. Regular running sessions, building up distance, endurance and fitness is your starting point. Use interval training as your starting point, with rest and walking periods. This is a great way to increase fitness and give you a clear indication of your current levels and the progress you will make.
